Reminder about Second-Round Vaccinations

March 30, 2021 - 5:20pm

As the second round of COVID-19 vaccinations continues on campus, Humboldt State University would like to remind the campus community about the process of vaccinations and appointments.

  • You will receive the same vaccine brand as your first dose.

  • The card you received at the clinic after your first vaccination included a tentative date for a followup dose. After receiving your first dose, you will automatically receive an email invitation the Friday or Saturday before that tentative second appointment to schedule your second vaccination. If you haven't received the email by Monday, email Cris Koczera at

  • Available appointments are based on supplies of the vaccine.

  • Your second dose may be later than the date that was indicated on your vaccination card. According to the CDC, “the second dose of Pfizer-BioNTech and Moderna COVID-19 vaccines may be administered up to 6 weeks (42 days) after the first dose.”

  • HSU will only be able to provide second round vaccinations to those who received their first vaccination through the University.

  • HSU is working with Humboldt County Public Health to start extending vaccines to students with medical conditions that put them at a high risk for COVID-19.

If you are interested in receiving a vaccine and have not filled out the HSU employee vaccine interest form, please do so as soon as possible here

All Humboldt County residents—including HSU staff, faculty, and students—who want to receive the vaccine are encouraged to fill out the County's COVID-19 Vaccine Interest Form.

The County is contacting eligible individuals separately from HSU’s process, and it’s recommended to take whatever opportunity is offered to you first or is your personal preference.
