Humboldt State's Repopulation Plan

April 26, 2021 - 3:38pm

As vaccinations become more widely available and restrictions are being lifted, Humboldt State University is looking ahead and looking forward to welcoming back students in Fall 2021.

To prepare for more in-person instruction and on-campus activities this summer and fall, the University is revising the repopulation plan to bring employees back to campus gradually over the next several months.

This phased approach prioritizes the health and safety of the campus community, while supporting the changing needs of our workforce with a thoughtful plan that takes into account the possibility of some employees continuing to telecommute.

The repopulation plan, which includes more details on telecommuting, will be finalized and shared after we receive more guidance related to the CSU’s vaccination requirements. HSU must ensure it aligns with the CSU’s vaccination announcement

The University’s transition begins with the Office of the President and President’s Administrative Team (PAT) who will return to campus in May. Other departments are expected to follow in increments over the summer.

Each Division will collaborate with employees to identify those who may need to work on campus, work from home, or a combination of both—decisions that will be informed by the person’s role and University needs, and the needs of our workforce.

All plans depend on low COVID-19 infection rates and are guided by state and county public health requirements and recommendations. Social distancing and face coverings will be required for everyone who comes to campus.

Please keep in mind that campus is still closed to the general public. Only employees who currently have permission from their supervisors are allowed on campus.
