HSU Employee Vaccinations Continue

March 16, 2021 - 10:00am

After careful planning with County Public Health, Humboldt State University has been administering COVID-19 vaccines to employees. Student employees, including those working for auxiliaries and Dining, have also been eligible to receive the vaccine.

As of March 15, HSU has vaccinated 811 employees.

The University is expecting to receive 300 doses of the Moderna vaccine this week for clinics on Tuesday, March 16 and Thursday, March 18. The University has identified 228 individuals who have completed the vaccination interest form but have not yet been vaccinated.

If you are interested in receiving a vaccine and have not filled out the HSU employee vaccine interest form, please do so as soon as possible here. Please note this is a separate form and process than what Humboldt County and the State of California are offering.

Those who have completed the form can look for an email invitation. Be sure not to share or forward that message, as they are only being sent to specific intended recipients. Vaccine supplies are limited and are being carefully distributed to ensure that employees with the highest risk of exposure are vaccinated first. Sharing this registration information will impact the overall scheduling and supplies for your co-workers.

Second round vaccinations will begin March 29. HSU will only be able to provide second round vaccinations to those who received their first vaccination through the University. You will automatically receive an email inviting you to your second appointment, and you will receive the same vaccine brand as your first dose. HSU is working with Humboldt County Public Health to start extending vaccines to students with medical conditions that put them at a high risk for COVID-19.

All Humboldt County residents—including HSU staff, faculty, and students—who want to receive the vaccine are encouraged to fill out the County's COVID-19 Vaccine Interest Form.

The County is contacting eligible individuals separately from HSU’s process, and it’s recommended to take whatever opportunity is offered to you first or is your personal preference.
