Employee Vaccines to Continue Next Week

March 5, 2021 - 4:49pm

After careful planning for the last several weeks with County Public Health, Humboldt State University began administering COVID-19 vaccines to employees on campus this week, prioritizing staff and faculty who have been approved to work on campus and have a higher risk of exposure, such as Housing, Dining, Custodial Services, and Children’s Center. Student employees, including those working for auxiliaries and dining, will also be eligible to receive the vaccine.

HSU is expected to receive enough doses of the Pfizer vaccine next week to vaccinate employees approved to work on campus who signed up through the University’s employee vaccine interest form. Look for an invitation in the email that you used when completing the interest form soon. Be sure not to share or forward that message, as they are only being sent to specific intended recipients. Vaccine supplies are limited and are being carefully distributed to ensure that employees with the highest risk of exposure are vaccinated first. Sharing this registration information will impact the overall scheduling and supplies for your co-workers.

Vaccine clinics for next week are expected to run Tuesday, March 9 to Thursday, March 11, with additional appointments possible on Friday, March 12.

If you are interested in receiving a vaccine and have not filled out the HSU employee vaccine interest form, please do so as soon as possible here

Please note this is a separate form and process than what Humboldt County and the State of California are offering.

All Humboldt County residents—including HSU staff, faculty, and students—who want to receive the vaccine are encouraged to fill out the County's COVID-19 Vaccine Interest Form.

The County is contacting eligible individuals separately from HSU’s process, and it’s recommended to take whatever opportunity is offered to you first or is your personal preference.
