CSU COVID-19 Leaves and Families First Coronavirus Relief Act to End December 31, 2020

November 3, 2020 - 2:55pm

All Staff and Faculty
All CSU provided COVID-19 Leaves—the CSU Coronavirus Paid Administrative Leave (CPAL) and Non-Telecommuting Workers Leave (NTWL)—are scheduled to expire on December 31, 2020. Any remaining unused hours will not be carried forward into 2021. Additionally, the Families First Coronavirus Relief Act (FFCRA), a federal law, is also scheduled to expire on December 31, 2020. This means that starting January 1, 2021, all staff and faculty must use their personal leave banks, such as sick leave and vacation time, for further absences caused by COVID-19.

Please contact the Human Resources department at
hsuhr@humbuldt.edu for questions regarding sick leave, family medical leave (FML), leave without pay, or other available leave options.

Eligible faculty may request a Voluntary Reduction in Time Base for the Spring semester. This provision was part of a Memorandum of Understanding between the California Faculty Association and the California State University related to the impacts of COVID-19. Such requests should be made by December 13, 2020 and can be initiated by contacting Stephanie Vick at
