Campus Updates

Jun 12 2020 - 3:03pm

The California State University system has approved Humboldt State University offering limited face-to-face courses this fall. The courses will be a subset of scheduled labs, activities, or field-based experiences that the University faculty have determined cannot be taught fully virtual.

Jun 3 2020 - 1:52pm

As Humboldt State University continues to plan for summer operations and the Fall semester, it has become clear that the number of faculty and staff working on campus will continue to be limited for the safety of the campus community.

With a goal of keeping campus density low in the fall, most employees will need to continue telecommuting. Likely fewer than 30 percent of employees will return to work on campus. In many cases, employees will work most of the time telecommuting with limited hours physically on campus.

Oh SNAP!:

May 20 2020 - 8:49am

Humboldt State University has successfully allocated millions in emergency funds to 5,200 HSU students through the Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security (CARES) Act. CARES is a new law meant to help individuals and businesses, including colleges and universities, cover emergency expenses related to COVID-19.

May 15 2020 - 1:33pm

The HSU community has rallied and supported one another during the challenges of recent months. Now, as we head into the summer break, it is important to continue with that and also to be aware of the disparate impact of the pandemic, which has amplified a number of equity issues and raised concerns about bias faced by people of color and people with other marginalized identities and their intersections.
