Campus Updates

Mar 30 2020 - 2:39pm

To reduce the risk of COVID-19 transmission, Siemens Hall computer labs and the University Center will close today at 5 p.m.

Those spaces had remained open to provide students with access to computers and internet so they could continue with classes. As of today, other solutions have been identified:

  • Rural students have been assisted with an arrangement with a cable provider for internet.

  • All students who indicated they needed a laptop have one or one on the way.

Mar 27 2020 - 5:31pm

Travel to areas with community level transmission of COVID-19 increases the risk of exposure and transmission to our campus and local community.

Mar 27 2020 - 8:30am

Dear Faculty and Students,

Welcome back to instruction! We want students to be relieved from undue concern about grades as we all adjust to alternative modes of teaching and learning. We are doing everything we can to help them to keep learning. And we want them to feel confident in doing so. To lessen student anxiety, the deadline to change grade mode (LTR to CR/NC, or CR/NC to LTR) has been extended to 11:59 p.m., Friday, May 8.

Dear Students,

Humboldt State University is committed to supporting your education in light of the circumstances related to COVID-19. As a result, HSU has developed guidelines on refunds, which are consistent with campus policies, Title 5 CCR § 41802 (Title 5) regulations, and guiding principles established by the California State University’s Chancellor Office.

(The following was sent today by the County of Humboldt. If you were on one of the flights listed and you live in a student residence, please contact Housing and Residence Life at (707) 826-3451.)

Mar 24 2020 - 1:50pm

Since our last employee memorandum, the Chancellor’s Office provided systemwide guidance on COVID-19 employee matters. As a result of the communication, we have revised the FAQs related to Human Resources to include CSU mandates and to clarify additional information for supervisors and employees. The employment-related FAQs will be updated as new information is available.
