Humboldt State University has announced allocations of the $12 million in funding from the Higher Education Emergency Relief Fund (HEERF). Since the initial campus call for feedback, HSU received an additional $1 million in federal Minority-Serving Institution funding, increasing the total second round funding allocations from $11 million to $12 million.

As a reminder, this is on top of the $5 million in funding being directly allocated to students via emergency aid, of which over $4.5 million has already been distributed.

After careful planning for the last several weeks with County Public Health, Humboldt State University began administering COVID-19 vaccines to employees on campus this week, prioritizing staff and faculty who have been approved to work on campus and have a higher risk of exposure, such as Housing, Dining, Custodial Services, and Children’s Center. Student employees, including those working for auxiliaries and dining, will also be eligible to receive the vaccine.

Student Athletes Returning to Play

Humboldt State University student-athletes are cautiously returning to training, practice, and exhibition games this spring.

Feb 24 2021 - 4:14pm

Humboldt State University student-athletes are cautiously returning to training, practice, and exhibition games this spring.

Under strict health and safety guidelines from the NCAA, Humboldt County Public Health, and the University, this is the first opportunity since the COVID-19 pandemic began for student athletes to return to a bit of normalcy. The careful, deliberate approach to returning can have implications for the future of campus functions like field trips, in-person courses, events, and more.
