Cal Poly Humboldt is now using a dashboard system to inform the campus of all positive cases, which employees will be expected to review to determine if they have been in a shared workspace with a positive case. Union representatives are also expected to use this dashboard as their means of determining if union members have had potential exposures.

Aug 16 2022 - 3:35pm

Cal Poly Humboldt continues to implement prevention strategies to minimize the spread of COVID-19 to the extent practicable. There are many options for post-infection therapeutics, and vaccination continues to have the strongest impact on preventing serious illness if infection does occur.

As we move further into the endemic stage of the disease, we anticipate seeing drops in case numbers as well as significant spikes. During those spikes we will continue to encourage individuals to protect themselves utilizing N95 rated masks.

Jun 3 2022 - 3:34pm

COVID-19 testing is available to Humboldt staff, faculty, and students at a new location for June and July at the Student Health Center (SHC). The cost of testing will be billed to your insurance provider at no additional expense to you.

  • Students and employees may come for testing during open hours: Mondays, Tuesdays, and Wednesdays 8 a.m. - 12 p.m. and 1-5 p.m.  No appointment is needed.

May 4 2022 - 10:46am

COVID-19 cases are rising on campus and in the community. In the last week, 39 students and 20 employees have tested positive.

In order to remain safe and preserve continuity of instruction for the rest of the semester, the University encourages the campus community to continue wearing face masks. N95 masks are recommended and effective for reducing the risk of transmission for the wearer.

Mar 8 2022 - 4:36pm

As part of the transition back to normal operations and in alignment with state regulations, wearing face masks on the Cal Poly Humboldt campus will be optional indoors and outdoors beginning Monday, March 14. The University encourages people to continue wearing face masks, and N95 masks are recommended and effective for reducing transmission for the wearer.

Supplemental Paid Sick Leave

Feb 24 2022 - 2:13pm

As we make our way through the COVID-19 pandemic, the safety and well-being of our campus community remain top priority. Signed by the Governor on February 9, 2022, Senate Bill 114 provides for new supplemental paid sick leave (SPSL) up to 80 hours (prorated based on full time equivalency) and is available effective January 1, 2022 for employees unable to work due to COVID-19-related reasons.

Feb 11 2022 - 2:19pm

Beginning Feb. 16, wearing masks outdoors on campus will be optional. Masks are still required indoors, except while eating or drinking in designated areas.

The moratorium on food and beverages at events and athletic games will be lifted on Feb. 16. On-campus dining areas have returned to normal dine-in services.

Cal Poly Humboldt is paying close attention to the progress of COVID-19 on campus and in our community. As a result, our masking practices will continue to be reviewed regularly.
