Campus Updates

Aug 10 2020 - 3:13pm

The following message was sent to the College Deans today.

Dear Deans:

As we get closer to the beginning of the Fall 2020 semester, we need to tie-up loose ends to support our Face to Face (F2F) offerings. To this end, our campus partners from Facilities Management and Environmental Health and Safety need additional information in order to comply with necessary protocols required by public health. Please start working with your Department Chairs to provide the necessary information. Below are details of what is being requested:

Aug 7 2020 - 9:48am

To keep the campus community informed, Humboldt State University will regularly send this e-newsletter with recent updates about HSU’s Fall semester, plus highlights of important current or new guidelines.

Social Responsibility

As a community, we have a responsibility to ourselves, the campus community, and local residents. Here is how you can help prevent the spread of COVID-19:

Aug 4 2020 - 11:38am

Face coverings and social distancing are some of the most important ways to prevent the spread of COVID-19, and both are required on campus in most circumstances.

When you are on campus you’re expected to stay at least six feet from other people whenever possible. Do not gather in groups and stay away from crowds, and make sure to follow all instructions that will be posted on campus signs.

Social Responsibility

Jul 31 2020 - 1:26pm

As members of the Humboldt State University community, all of us have a responsibility to ourselves and each other to maintain a healthy and safe environment during the pandemic. That’s why students and employees are being asked to take the Social Responsibility Commitment.

Jul 23 2020 - 5:39pm

As members of the Humboldt State University community, all students, faculty, and staff will commit to protect others and themselves during the pandemic. For those of us with a physical need to be on campus in a few short weeks, there are important considerations and actions we must adhere to in order to keep our fall plan in place. For details on HSU’s plans for the Fall semester, go to campusready.humboldt.edu.

What You Need to Know:

Jul 16 2020 - 1:31pm

HSU has launched a new website, campusready.humboldt.edu, with detailed information about the preparations for the coming Fall semester.

This clearinghouse of information is organized so that students, faculty, and staff can find the answers they’re looking for regarding instruction, residence life, operations, health and safety, student support, and more. It also provides the most recent announcements as well as information about the planning structure.

Jul 14 2020 - 9:13am

Due to new guidelines from the California State University system and the Centers for Disease Control, Humboldt State University has developed new guidelines on returning to work on campus for employees who are 65+ years old or who have underlying medical conditions that make them vulnerable to COVID-19. There are also multiple CSU and federal leave options for certain employees impacted by the pandemic.

Jul 13 2020 - 1:13pm

Humboldt State University has determined spending priorities for $5.9 million in federal funds received through the Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security (CARES) Act as well as the Minority Serving Institutions (MSI) Program. Funds will be used to cover a portion of the University’s expenses related to the impact of COVID-19.

Jul 8 2020 - 10:53am

Humboldt State University would like to share a few important updates and reminders as the campus prepares to welcome back students, faculty, and staff for the Fall semester.

As always, the progression of students toward their degree and the health and safety of our campus community are paramount and drive key decisions that are being made in conjunction with state and local partners.
