As the State of California prepares to ease restrictions on wearing masks starting June 15, the campus community is reminded that Humboldt State and all workplaces in California are subject to current Cal/OSHA rules. 

Based on Cal/OSHA standards, staff, faculty, and students must still wear face coverings while indoors on campus and outdoors anytime you cannot maintain a 6 foot distance from others—even if you are fully vaccinated.

The Student Health Center will be closed from Friday, May 21, until August 16, 2021. Students needing assistance should email health@humboldt.edu or leave a message at 707-826-5036. These messages will be checked 1-2 times per week so it may take several days to get a reply.

The Chancellor’s Office has issued a memo lifting the previous travel restrictions effective June 1st, 2021.

In light of the CDC’s new face covering guidelines for fully vaccinated people, the campus community is reminded that anyone who is attending or working Commencement on Friday, May 14 and Saturday, May 15 must follow health and safety guidelines established by California State OSHA and Humboldt County Public Health.

The University will be hosting virtual informational sessions on plans to bring employees back to campus gradually over the next several months.

As vaccinations become more widely available and restrictions are being lifted, Humboldt State University is looking ahead and looking forward to welcoming back students in Fall 2021. 

To prepare for more in-person instruction and on-campus activities this summer and fall, the University is revising the repopulation plan to bring employees back to campus gradually over the next several months.

Humboldt County has adopted state guidelines regarding travel. As of April 22:

  • If you are fully vaccinated: 

    • No quarantine is required for domestic travel

    • 14-day quarantine is required for international travel

  • If you are not fully vaccinated:

    • No quarantine is required for travel in California

    • 14-day quarantine is required for other domestic and international travel.

The California State University today announced that beginning this Fall, all faculty, staff and students who access campus facilities will be required to be immunized against COVID-19.
